ROBI, het water van de knop
A smart water filter for an impact-driven company with a mission of reducing packaged water.
Challenges
The ROBI smart water filter system is designed with accessibility in mind, aiming for a low barrier of entry for consumers.
Consequently, cost-efficiency is a key consideration in its development. This has led to working with constraints in electronic development, as 7c7 prioritized keeping the price-tag low while ensuring lots of functionality for the smart device.
Result
The ROBI water filter uses some of the latest Bluetooth Low Energy and near-field communication technologies to provide it’s users with tasty drinking water and insights in their filter usage.
The battery-powered button was realized with an extremely low sleep current expressed in mere nano-amperes!
Beyond the design
When the first prototype of the ROBI hardware was produced, it was tested for EMC compliance. Here 7c7 Engineering guided the client getting it’s product certified.
The prototype yielded a first-time-pass (!) during the EMC immunity and emission tests.
